What makes you a snob?

So what is it in your life that has to be "just so." Are there lots of things that have to be exactly right in your life for you to be happy??? Or are you just plain not picky at all? Does it bother you if other people don't do the things you are picky about?

Oh, I could on forever about this topic! ;) There are lots of perks about me in this range but here is just a "sample".....

I would have to say that I am way too organized! (But in my defense, I get it from my Aunts). I try to not be uptight about other people who are as organized as I am but, I think I am sometimes.

On a side note, because I am not very outspoken, I was -and usually am still- mistaken for snobbish. So, my remedy for this as I've gotten older was to try and be the first to say "hello" to someone.

Sorry I deleted my comment cuz' i forgot to spell check.

Anyways....

I'm a disciplinarian. I expect a lot from my children. Well....I say a lot but what I mean is normal manners and common courtesy which seems to be a lot these days.

It does bother me when I am out and peoples kids are doing unacceptable things that are destructive or could cause someone to get hurt and the parents just look the other way and ignore it opposed to correcting their children. If it could result in harm to one of my kids I'll usually just do the correcting for them. So I guess I'm a snob about parenting.

I'm also a little particular about my house. I have a hard time understanding how people can live with newspapers from 3 years ago stacked up against their wall. Clutter dives me crazy!! I will just get in throw it away moods and go trash can happy on my house. This drives my husband nuts who likes to keep the bills from years ago. He's getting better but he is still a little bit of a clutter bug. Who know maybe 10 more years with him and I'll have him completely transformed and putting his shoes away when he takes them off!! :) I know, I know... but i think I will keep dreaming.

In certain ways, I'm pretty relaxed, but I have to admit, that most of me is a snob.

I'm a snob in the typical ways - about:

Italian food
Movies
Books
Music
Football Teams (everything BUT the eagles).

I'm also a snob about snobbery. i know this sounds weird - even counter-intuitive. But I hate people that are snobs so much that i tend to be snobby to them. Or places. Like Boston, for example. That is a city for snobs. It is clean. It has Harvard, MIT, it is in New England . Everyone everywhere else wants to visit it. It has the "Freedom Trail." Everyone there is rich. Throughout the US, people love the Red Sox (lame), Celtics (boo), and Patriots (GRR). People want to go and eat the "clam chowdah" (oh...i hate when the Bostonians brag about their dumb accent). BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Anyways. I've had my fair share of experiences with the town (my dad lives there), and the more I go there, the more I detest it. I know it is because i'm being an Anti-Snob (which, makes me a snob). But I'm from Philly. Philly is dirty. It is blue-collar. Everyone is here pissed off for some reason or another. However, it is just as good as Boston - We have Wharton. We Independence Hall AND the Liberty Bell. So what - Paul Revere ran around on a dumb horse screaming about redcoats. Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence IN PHILLY! I know, the Delaware river isn't as pretty as the Charles. Whatever. I hate the American league. The Philadelphia Phanatic is the BEST mascot ever This guy is just some wannabe. Donovan McNabb is cooler than Tom Brady. The celtics are just after me lucky charms...Cheesesteaks are better than Chowder. Hoagies are better than Grinders. Wawa is WAY better than Tedeschi's.

I'm just trying to say, I'd rather live in Jersey than in Boston.

Anyways. I'm a snob about snobs. Well about Boston anyway...Man, I should have made my own blog entry on this topic...

I totally agree on being a snob about snobs. One of my favorite past times is laughing at people who spend 300 dollars on a purse. What's wrong with a $15 one from Target. They both hold your keys wallet and phone, right? I guess I'm just a jeans and t'shirt kind of person. Accessories to me are a waste of time and money. I understand a few here and there. I'm not opposed to trying to being cute, but twenty different hand bags so they can match your shoes takes way to much time, money and energy in my opinion. My idea of a good accessory is a shoe that stays tied and an ipod to drown out the the snobs on their blue-tooths.

I also have a good laugh at women who put on their make up to work out. UMM, yeah, I don't really know what else to say about that.

yup, I'm a HUGE snob about not being a snob.

Oh, and because I've been given the oppurtunity from Catania's post:

PHILLY ROCKS...the phanatic is hands down the greatest mascot to ever walk the earth. The food is awesome, WaWa is the closest thing to heaven, and even though none of our teams have won a championship in almost 30 years we are still the greatest hard-core fans anywhere in the country. Just ask the prison guards uder Eagles stadium FLY EAGLES FLY!!!

Oh... and I could really go for a cheese steak right now. YUM!!

Man, that felt good:)

I totally just got a new purse for 15$...from Target. I'm really not too particular about much. I think that actually bothers some people, but one thing Erick thinks is really weird is that.....
I only like one raisin per spoonful of Raisin Bran!!! Okay, wow, that was hard. Yeah really though, I guess I am a movie snob. I have to check rotten tomatoes before I will even consider seeing a movie. When it comes to everything else, I guess I also always have to have Cora look "just right" at least in my eyes. Bryant can have his pants on backwards and jelly smeared down his shirt but if Cora does not have on a matching out fit with cute shoes we are not going anywhere!! In Bryant's defense, the boy cannot go five minutes in a clean out fit, so I kind of just let him do his own thing!!!

And I agree with Stephanie. I think the people I judge the most are the people that judge everyone else. Which is just as bad. But I can't help but roll my eyes at someone that actually cares that someone else isn't wearing the "right" thing or said something slightly inappropriate or whatever. Sometimes it's hard to remember that they are living breathing people with feelings and a spirit! I guess I'll try harder!

Vera. Bradley.

I am a Very Bradley snob. I own like, 4 other purses that are NOT VB, one is a brand name and the other 3 are handmade purses I got from local craft shows. lol I am now in the stage of my VB snob-ish-ness that my sets have to match. I do have special ways to get mine without ALWAYS having to pay full retail price, but sometimes I spend the full retail price just cause I want to. lol

Cereal. I'm a cereal snob. Generic brands just don't do it for me. Same with soda. lol

Funny that this is the topic this week because I've been actually wondering whether this made me snobbish or not... I had my second son on Thursday morning, and the first thing I did after my AWESOME post-birth shower (Do you all look forward to that as much as I do?) was put on my make-up, make my hair somewhat cute, and put on a fresh, new white tank top and my favorite green hoodie. I had forgotten my "diamonds" which was a total bummer, but I felt cute. I know I'm going to look at the pictures from right after my babies are born for the rest of my life, and the last thing I want to be thinking is "Ugh, I look disgusting." And you won't find any pictures of me in a hospital gown. They don't exsist. Anyways, that's my most recent snob behavior.

I know I'm a snob, but I think most of the things that make me a snob I keep undercover. Or at least I try to. Zach sees it all and I know it drives him bonkers, but he still loves me, thank goodness.

I don't think I can lay out on here all the things that make me a snob. In my mind I'm a pretty judgemental person, but I try really hard not to be outloud. It's something that really bothers me about myself. With some of the thoughts that go through my head I think "Who is that in there? I'm a nice person. I shouldn't be thinking things like that." So I'm hoping I'm just a closet snob, and that other people haven't figured it out.
